The Myth Of Unlimited Hosting Plans

If you were to compare the hosts, you probably noticed that pages of ads to say “unlimited bandwidth” and “unlimited disk space” or perhaps even another “unlimited” features.

While the “unlimited” certainly seems inviting, customers should be aware of what it really means.

The term “unlimited” is a marketing tactic used by the owners to remain competitive in a competitive market for web hosting. Although misleading in mind the current atmosphere is at least understandable, if not forgiven.

But what does the term “unlimited” really mean? And how it applies to you?

In practice, web, few companies (if any) can offer a truly unlimited hosting service if all customers, at the same time began to use their accounts at full capacity. In practice, it is unlikely that very few customers actually use anywhere near this good.

The term “unlimited” is 100% marketing hype, pure and simple.

My advice is to just accept it for what it is and not base a buying decision on whether a service is or is not “unlimited.” Almost all modern web hosting services offer the same.

benchmarks most important are a host of reliability and the level of support.

Just make sure to read the fine print before you get attracted to those plans and focus on the elements in which the company is a price increase after a certain amount of traffic has been achieved or even close down the site altogether. If you are unsure, it is perfectly acceptable to contact a representative of a web hosting service and ask them directly.

Always refer to the “unlimited” hosting plan with a healthy skepticism. In the world of web hosting there is no such thing as “unlimited bandwidth” or “unlimited disk space” or a “100% availability”
